I always feel honoured when asked to make a cremation box. I was asked via a friend of a friend if I could make two. The client and I decided on cherry, all the wood milled and air dried from the same tree. I added the walnut keys to help strengthen the mitered corners. We decided rather than having a lid and hinge hardware the removable bottom has four small brass screws so the contents can be added. Each box is 12 1/4" X 8" X 6 1/4" finished with one coat of blond shelac and wax.
